Methodology

The methodological model with which we work at the Madrid Technical Academy has its origin in the motor control model proposed by Marteniuk in (1976) and completed by Walford (1976). These models divide the motor execution process into three mechanisms or stages, all of which are fundamental in any learning or improvement process: perceptual phase, decision-making phase and execution phase. Football is a sport of cooperation-opposition, where the level of uncertainty is very high, where the interactions between the different elements of the game are constant and where a changing reality is presented. Therefore, and in accordance with the aforementioned models, success or performance in the game is not only related to the execution phase, but is the result of the sum and mastery of each of the phases of this process. - Perceptual phase: refers to the interpretation of environmental stimuli and the evaluation of the situation. When a player is going to give a pass, he must first analyze where his teammates are, where his rivals are, where the ball is coming from... - Decision-making phase: consists of the internal decision process carried out by an individual before executing any motor action. It is a process that is not always conscious and that is carried out by analyzing the responses that the individual has stored in their memory and choosing the most appropriate response to the situation. After the player has analyzed the environment, he chooses a response that comes from the information he has in his memory about similar situations experienced previously, which allows him to discriminate which is the best response for that situation. This decision includes who to give the pass to, the surface with which to execute that pass, the type of pass to be made... - Execution phase: responsible for carrying out the movement, for the coordination of the different muscular actions necessary to carry it out. the previously selected answer. This phase is influenced by the qualitative component, related to neuromuscular coordination, speed and precision of execution (technique) and the quantitative component, directly related to the physical condition of the subject. To carry out that pass, you must execute the response you have chosen and, for this, there must be coordination between the supporting leg, the striking leg, the position of the body, the speed at which you must perform the movements and it depends of physical abilities such as strength (striking in the striking leg and stability in the supporting leg and in the rest of the body), flexibility or mobility (range of movement in which their limbs can execute the action) or resistance ( ability to repeat movements).

Technique and tactics

Goals

The process of perception, decision-making and execution shows us the path we should follow when seeking to improve performance in football.

From technique to tactics

The football technique consists of the execution of structural movements that obey a series of spatio-temporal patterns, which guarantee efficiency.
